Itinerary

day 1

Day 1: Hanoi – Nghia Lo (L, D)

Depart for Duong Lam village, a typical village of Viet people. Duong Lam is famous for more than 100 houses dating back from 300 to 400 years ago. Walking around the village to learn more about the rural life and visit the Communal house nearby before having lunch with a family in old house in the village. Head North to Nghia Lo afterwards. Check in and have dinner. Overnight in guest house in Nghia Lo. Optional: Homestay in the house of Thai people.

day 2

Day 2: Nghia Lo – Than Uyen (B, L, D)

Getting up early to visit local market (Muong Lo) and village, have chat with the farmers who coming to field. Back to the guesthouse for breakfast, then we will depart for Than Uyen. On the way, visit the villages where people rarely see foreign visitors to see their local life. People walk on their barefoot, seniors smoke the water pipe tobacco sitting on their door’s steps. Woman is weaving beside their loom. Everything is sure appealing. Overnight in hotel in Than Uyên.

day 3

Day 3: Than Uyen – Sapa (B, L)

After breakfast we commence our journey to Sapa stopping to visit a Lu minority village who migrated into the northwestern region of Viet Nam between the 9th and 14th centuries together with the Thai people. We will also visit the Black Dao minority village where the women wear plain black trousers together with black jackets decorated at the sleeves and collars with thin bands of embroidery, coins and beads finished with a maroon ruff. After lunch we will visit a tea plantation before commencing our drive-up Tram Ton pass, the highest mountain pass in Vietnam at 2050 m above the sea level, great moment for photo shots at sunset. Arrive in Sapa in the late afternoon. Overnight in Sapa.

day 4

Day 4: Sapa Trekking to The Remote Village (B, L)

After having breakfast at hotel, you will be transferred to the trekking base. From here we will trek to Ta Van village – Dzay people village, located 8 km from Sapa down town. You will hike along gentle slopes, terraced fields, crossing Muong Hoa stream. Picnic lunch on the way down to the village. In the afternoon, continue trekking through the grove of bamboo before transfer back to Sapa town by vehicle. Free and overnight in Sapa.

day 5

Day 5: Sapa – Bac Ha (B, L, D)

Spend your last morning in Sapa town to visit the market or just walk around the town where you can see the Dzao(Yao), H’mong ladies embroidering in every corners. We will visit the temperate flower garden on Ham Rong mountain before transfer to Bac Ha in the afternoon. After a short driving, we will reach to Bac Ha plateau where you will visit a flower Hmong village. Overnight in Bac Ha.

day 6

Day 6: Bac Ha – Ha Giang (B, L, D)

We will arise early to commence our long journey to Ha Giang, through pristine countryside with valleys and mountains opening up on all sides and then along the remote Chay River Valley. During the trip, we may see Flower H’Mong, Nung, Co Lao, Red Yao, La Chi, Pa Then and White H’Mong minority people in their daily lives. Stops will be provided along the way for photography. Stay overnight in a nice mountain eco resort.

day 7

Day 7: Ha Giang – Dong Van (B, L, D)

Today we will experience a spectacular day of driving through amazing mountainous landscapes nestled up against the border with China. About 50km’s out of Ha Giang, the road zigzags its way up the amazing Quan Ba Pass eventually providing a spectacular view over Quan Ba town and the surrounding countryside. Opportunities to take photographs will be provided along the way. We end our day’s journey at Dong Van, an isolated town atop a small hill. Dong Van rocky plateau - one of 77 geological parks in the world and the second geological park in Southeast Asia - is very beautiful with mountains, forests, hidden grottoes and multi-colored orchid forests. Overnight in Dong Van.

day 8

Day 8: Dong Van – Ha Giang (B, L, D)

In the morning, we visit Dong Van minority market - one of the most beautiful minority weekly markets in Vietnam. Great moment for photos at the market and Pho Bang ancient street of Chinese people dating back 100 years ago. You will see H’mong, Dao, Lo Lo, Pa Then minority people in their beautiful dresses flock at the biggest market fair of the region. Mid-morning, we reach to the peak of Ma Pi Leng. From here you are able to admire most stunning scenery in North Vietnam with panoramic views of a rocky mountain, a river and paddy field terraces. After lunch, we will drive back to Ha Giang where we spend the night in the village of Tay minority people. The village offers the best homestay among Vietnam and surely, you will get home with unforgettable experience.

day 9

Day 9: Ha Giang – Hanoi (B, L)

Wake up early as it awakes to observe the local lifestyle and indulge yourself in the tranquil mountainscape. Return to Hanoi. Lunch en route. Arrive in Hanoi around 5 pm. Tour ends at your hotel.
