Hanoi - Halong - Hanoi
Every year, Seagulls Travel Company collaborates with the Hanoi Open University Tourism Department to organize practical tours for hotel management students, allowing them to learn and practice directly in all departments of a 5-star hotel in major cities such as Hanoi, Hai Phong, and Ha Long. This program provides a great opportunity for students to enhance their knowledge and practical skills in hotel operations. Upon graduation, they are fully confident and equipped with the necessary skills to start working immediately.
Day 1: Hanoi – Ha Long (L/D)
• 05:30: The bus and guide gather at the meeting point to pick up the group. Conduct roll call, explain the rules and program.
• 06:00: Depart for Bai Chay - Ha Long. Students are served breakfast on the bus (pastries and milk).
• 09:00: Arrive at The Yacht Hotel. Leave luggage in the hotel’s luggage storage area.
• 09:30 – 12:30 (180 minutes): Session 1 - Restaurant Skills: The group moves to the Conference Room for a knowledge-sharing session on Restaurant Operations using visual aids. The hotel’s Restaurant/ banquet manager will introduce students to the hotel’s Food & Beverage department (organizational structure, hotel restaurants), and explain the service procedures for Asian cuisine (folding napkins, setting tables, serving dishes, etc.). Then, a demonstration will be provided for students to observe, and students will practice folding napkins and setting tables according to hotel standards in the area designated for their lunch.
• 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM: Lunch at the hotel restaurant and self-assessment of the products created during the training session. Afterwards, students take a break in the restaurant area.
• 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Session 3 – Reception Operations (120 minutes): The group returns to the Conference Room to participate in a knowledge-sharing session on Reception Operations. The Front Office Manager will introduce the students to the organizational structure of the Front Office, the services provided by the department, and the procedures for check-in for group and VIP guests (highlighting the differences from individual guests). Students will then go to the lobby to observe reception staff performing their duties and handling check-in procedures for the group.
• 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM: Students rest in their rooms.
• 7:00 PM: The bus picks up the group at the hotel and transports them to the restaurant for dinner. Gala dinner at the restaurant. After dinner, the bus takes the group back to the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel. Review of the free tea break setup (Afternoon tea set up in the lobby area outside the ballroom).
Day 2: Ha Long – Hanoi (B/L)
• 06:00 – 08:00: Free breakfast at The Yacht hotel
• 08:30 – 11:00: Practice Room Service Skills (120 minutes): Details according to the two options mentioned in the Welcome Plan for Student Groups_Room Service Procedures.
Note: Implementation depends on room capacity at the time of service. Before practicing housekeeping, all luggage must be cleared.
• 11:30: Check out and lunch at the hotel. (Practice check-out for the group. Briefing from the previous day and today’s practice ~ 45 minutes)
• 13:15: The group is picked up at the hotel to visit Sunworld Ha Long Cable Car (Queen Cable Car)
• 17:00: The group returns to the bus to head back to Hanoi.
• 20:00: The group arrives at the original meeting point. End of the tour.
